building a road case for my model t

i am almost finished, just finished staining the wood, (tobacco burst ) and is totally assembled.   my only problem is on the foam i have decided to use as insulation.   when i removed the foam from its plastic covering i noticed there was a large amount of static electricity.   my main concern is if this static electricity is going to be a problem with my 30 year old amp and if there was a way to discharge it? :?

if this is a stupid question, don't hesitate to put me in my place.   thanks

anyone?   does anybody know if excessive static electricity will hurt an old amp.   i know it fucks up computers
