3 way impedance selector switch
« on: August 26, 2007, 12:50:33 am »
my tube guitar head has a 3 way impedance selector which will allow me to adjust the impedance to 2, 4 or 8 ohms.

i understand that running two 8 ohm cabinets in parallel is presenting my amp with a 4 ohm load.

my question is:  since each cabinet is an 8 ohm load and i am only running one cable to each cabinet, should i set the amp's impedance to 8 ohms, or 4 because i am running two of them?

if it makes a difference, the amp is an old ampeg V4 that says magnavox on the back.
