I can't help much, if at all. I'll try this, though.

I originally thought the Model T was named because of the T input, which went to both channels. In fact, it was so named because of the split-T inverter-driver stage, which was supposed to be much cleaner than the 6AN8 circuit it replaced. Apparently the 6AN8 circuit got pretty muddy when pushed hard with complex jazz chords. Wish I could remember where I read that. Anyway, if that's true,  then the T input must have been added because of the name, not the other way around.

The Fender-era Model T, a completley different amp, was obviously (to me) named to take advantage of the original Model T's popularity and reputation.

Seems to me the early amps were all named individually while the later amps were part of a series and did not have separate names. Many comments have been posted and threads started regarding the fact that 75% of the amps whose names start with an "S", were in fact the same basic amp with cabinet and speaker differences being the major items of note.

Naming Conventions? All I know is the last time I was at NAMM, I was blind for three days........

I guess the ones i am most curious about how they got there name are

Orion
Sonic
Sorado
Solano
Sorano
Solarus
Sceptre
Sentura
100
200

These would be the ones named by either Conrad or Norm.

I know that they are all basically the same amp only different speaker config. I just wondered how they came up with the names. What's in a name huh? Oh well.

Well, not the Orion or (it's stillborn brother) the Aquarius.

Hmm... if I remember correctly, the failed Fender Zodiac series of amps came after these two...

:-o :-o :-o

Maybe Zodiac named amps are just jinxed from the beginning?

=

I always thought the "T" in model T was for tube. And because it was only available in black...  :-D

Yes, your right about the orion. Miserable existance.

I guess the secrets behind these names will remain a mystery.

Unless Conrad decides to shed some light on it anyway.
