The 1000 series with 2 cabs being back breakers? Why I can remember ......sorry...
Nuthin' compared to a B3 and a Lawrence Electric Piano....and all the other stuff we hauled around way back when....the 2 15 cabinets were actually easy to move, they weighed a lot but the size was just right for 2 guys to carry them. Much easier than Marshalls.
I believe this was 1973...or maybe 4
Man, is that
you in that pic? '73 or '74? You are freekin' old, dude!
Those are the little cabs, the 1000 series cabs are a lot bigger. Here's a pic that I posted on another thread the other day that illustrates the difference.
I can still dead lift a 200S cab into a van without help. I
might be able to squat a 2000S cab into a van, but I ain't gonna find out. Too awkward and too heavy, lean it and slide it in, or get help!
But I digress...
Although I have a '72 catalog showing the 2000S renamed as the 350b, I
also have a
2000S with a
1972 grease pencil date on the chassis.
Well, I think so anyway, it's been a couple of years since I've been in it, but that's what I remember.
How about that?
I'm with you on the B3, I roadied for a band in the 70's that had a B3 (not a cutdown, either), 3rd floor rehearsal studio, and no elevator.
The
easiest way to get it up and down was a FIRE ESCAPE.
Two or three times a week, pure hell
By the way, I hope you know I'm kidding you about the old thing! I was old enough to vote when that picture of yours was taken.
