i have questions for anybody to answer...
i found a sentura II with 2x12 cab that is in prime condition.
is it worth $375? does the sound compare to a sceptre?

also, does anyone know if i could run a scepter head through an old (1974 i think)
4x10 sunn cab.

i'd appreciate some advice/help.

Travis;
The Sentura II head is the same as a Sceptre....same tubes, knobs and features. Sunn just used the old marketing trick of using a different name for each amp when combining the heads with different speaker configurations. The Sentura II was mated with a 2x15 cabinet (JBL D15s). The Sceptre came with a 4x12 cabinet (Sunn Transducers.......probably Eminence). So the amp you are considering has a mis-matched speaker cab.....probably a Solarus cab (check the speakers to see if they can handle 60 watts RMS. The Solarus only put out 40 watts RMS and the Sentura 60 watts RMS). However, if the amp/speaker cab you are considering is in good shape and original, $375 would be a good price. Bear in mind that if the amp has not been re-capped or re-tubed, it will probably need it if you are going to gig with it. Figure $100 to re-cap and $50 for new 6550's (the pre-amp tubes are often OK) and be sure to get matched 6550's and re-bias them for long tube life.

Good Luck!

Travis;
The Sceptre should be fine through a Sunn 410S cab (if that is the model you have and if it still has the original speakers) which was rated at 160 watts RMS.
