Some pictures got added today. It's a 40 watt. They say it doesn't work but it could just be they don't know about the standby switch.

Ya, those heads don't have a real standby switch, it's just a preamp mute. So you might hear a little buzz from the speaker but no guitar will get through. Those amps also don't have a ground switch or a death cap.

Would it be salvageable?
I am considering it but it looks very rough cosmetically!

It's rough cosmetically but it shouldn't be a problem to get it performing good as new. The tolex probably impossible to get. The grill cloth, next to impossible. Might be able to get a piece from an old speaker cab. The badge, very rare but you might be able to get a repro made. The correct handle, I'm not sure, let me know if you find a source  :-D . The corners, close equivalents are available. The original feet, I'm not sure about, they look like boat hardware, or you could get away with generic rubber feet.

Well the seller ended the auction early and cancelled all bids. The highest bid was $210.00

he either sold it and the buyer wasn't happy with it or he didn't get what he thought it was worth..an amp that old and being a vintage sunn should be bought by a SUNN GUY who understands what it takes to put it back in a somewhat new and playable condition....lets see how this action goes....smiles...

hey guys...i just took a look at the smiley face and guess what...the guy that's selling it lives the next town over from me....small world...now...the first time that went up for auction i don't remember seeing that he was from woburn mass.    i always look to see where the auction guys home is...but , that didn't show up...these pics that are up are clearer than the first ones and the amp does look like it had been sitting in the cellar since 1966...gee ! looks like you can tie a boat up to the handle...getting the amp to work probably wouldn't be much of a problem and retolexing it is would be an hours worth of work...the smiley face looks rough..and, if your not a purist you could recover the grill cloth with new fender style...hey ! you have to bring it back from the dead..and, the cellar smell....ok now, who's going to bid...?????

Ya know what's pretty strange? When that head was up on EBAY last month and the listing vanished, ALL of the seller's listings got wiped under his "bigbostonseller" ID after he got some NEGATIVE FEEDBACK (two in a row for not shipping items paid for!) Now it's back under a totally DIFFERENT EBAY SELLER ID!! He didn't just change his EBAY user ID...he moved everything to an entirely DIFFERENT EBAY ACCOUNT. The old one is still there but now with no items listed since the problems.

Apparently, he moved everything to another ID to hide what was going on. I would assume that changing all your items to an entirely different EBAY account after getting two consecutive complaints about "not shipping," "not responding to emails" and "lies about sending" items is a BIG RED FLAG for dealing with this guy. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!
