I bought a Concert Bass head for $20 today,...

..as is.   I figured the parts were worth that much. 

'76 Sunn Concert Bass

There are fried componets on the board in the power section.  I've heard there are parts in this amp, that aren't replaceable. Is this true?  Could a good tech get this thing going?


edit: oh yea, also the mid knob is really hard to turn, anybody got a remedy?

Some difficult parts to find for the concert series

Preamp input J FETs (2N4304) - non standard pin-out
Transformers - power and output section
Knobs - marking with 0 to 10
Handle

Most other components are available including the power switch

What does your tech charge per hour? Maybe it's not worth it.........

With Concert Bass Amps in working condition not seeming to go for much above $ 300 to $ 350 (if that high) on E-Bay,  I doubt that Tech charges + parts would end up being worth it.  But that's just my $ .02

amp is up and running. Cost $60 to fix.
