hi,   i am looking for a jack plate.   the circular metal one.   just a single input.  i think it's from a 200s cab.

also, i have one of those speakers boxed and ready to ship.  i'm still trying to find a suitable box for the other.  so very soon they will depart from here.

thanks

I need a set of the original rubber grommet and chassis mounting bolts for a '72 Studio Lead, mine rotted away and when I bought it (for $30  :-D) I replaced them with a similar outfit but it would be nice to get the originals in there. Any of those lying around?

thanks,

uri g.

SoberSkipper,

No, I am afraid I do not have those. The bolts should be fairly standard as should the grommets. I would not imagine Sunn would have special ordered that type of hardware. In fact I would bet that if you look at several of the same amps from different years, the screws and such would be different since they would have bought from whoever had the right price or whatever their main supplier was selling at the time.

I wish I had saved the pieces so I could show you... The bolts and metal grommets were regulation, and I had no problem replacing them with shiney new versions but the nuts were sealed into the rubber grommets that held them into the chassis. Basically, the chassis mounting holes aren't threaded and the big rubber grommet fit inside with the threaded nut sealed inside of it. The nuts had a groove cut into the side all the way around for the rubber to melt into and fill when the grommets were molded. The design was great, the rubber and metal nuts were inseparable... unfortunately, this amp is from 1972 and the rubber had just about disintegrated!

I managed to get Duco cement to stick long enough to a plastic piece and the metal of the chassis to get the chassis back into the box properly and it holds tight, but if I ever take the chassis out again, I know I will have to epoxy all over again. It was a total pain, that's why i'm searching for these... just for "fun".

thanks for the reply!

this is the amp by the way incase anyone needs some ampporn
