Thanks for the reference link I'm going to be checking that out today.  As far as the transformers go, the numbers on them read:

Speaker jack side:
3-40 T
606838

Fuse/Power cord side:
3-4PT
606814

Going to research both these topics today, cool stuff!  And, do you know off the top of your head what the 3 little tubes are? From the schem it shows the 7199, but lists 12AX7 and 12AU7 as the other little guys, but one of mine doesn't have a number, and the other says 7025.  Again I'll be looking this up too, but if you know right away it would help me a great deal. Thanks so much!

  Hi Jake,the numbers on the trans. indicate it's a 40 watt output trans.The "little" tubes are a 12AX7A,the first one looking at the front of the amp from the left,it's military number is 7025,direct sub.The next one is a 12AU7A,(the one with no #) and the last one is the 7199.Judging by the trans. # the outputs should be EL 34's (6CA7).Good luck with this project,Mel.

I agree, the tubes should be EL34's. Make sure you check the bias if you cahnage them. I am kind of surprised 6550's work at all in the amp.

The speakers are Jensens with ceramic magnets and as far as I can tell, are not origianl to the cabinet....but then one can never be such.

Man, what a beautiful combo.

Let me know if you find that unless you have something plugged in the footswitch input for the tremolo, the tremolo will remain active(mine makes a really faint 'whup whup whup' sound, if that makes sense).  My old amp tech looked into it, but didn't know what the deal was, and I didn't want to disable the tremolo, just in case I ever found a use for it.

  Hi there xsolarusx,yes they short the trem. to gnd. to "kill"it.The "whup" sound could be one of the electrolytics on the trem. pc board starting to go,there's 3 of them, replace them all and see what happens,good luck,Mel.

Good point!  I'm definitely not trusting myself to the job, but when I find a new guy, I'll see what's what.

In the meantime, we've got a male RCA input plugged in, and it's eliminated the 'whup'.

Thanks for the tips, I will be getting some EL34's to put in there and test out.. I'm thinking the EHX 6CA7 EL34, heard anything good/bad about those?

And, fortunately, my tremolo isn't audible if both dials are at 0, even if they are a little past 0, it sort of sounds like it's trying really hard to make sound, but barely noticeable.  Maybe a 'whup' is the best way to describe it! but certainly now loud.
