:-o Let me get this straight . You got a Sunn tube head for 20 bucks and a vintage 4x10  Fender tweed bassman & acoustic amp w/ cabinet  both for 80.00?
You paid too much.
I hope you don't mind me saying this but im sceptical. Very sceptical.
Those are the kind of deals of yesteryear you just dont find anymore these days. Especially from somsone who has a computer to easlily go to ebay and check the value of an 4x10 bassmanTweed amp.
I can't say for certain, so I won't call bs, but if it looks, tastes and smells like B.s..well, then....

It can Happen. I got a 69 Solarus head complete for $50. I'll Recap it first and then we'll see. Nothing exploded or leaky. Sorry to say I had to let the 2X12 cabinet go to someone else. Just was too broke and borrowed the $50 as it was. A free bassman head has been promised to me and yes the Magic smoke was let out 25 years ago. Keep looking....Yahoo freecycle is one source.....

I traded a mountain bike I had $50 in for a '68 2000S head... the deals still happen, just fewer and farther between.

Yeah it can happen. I got a real 1956 Fender 5E3 tweed Deluxe and a 1957 Duo-Sonic guitar for $250 total back in February. Original speaker was long gone and it had a radio shack speaker in it. I had done the work on it several years back when it was overhauled. The owner decided to sell the amp and guitar to me since I did a good job on the amp and he liked my playing and wanted it to go to someone who would use it. He bought both originally in 1957. I sold the guitar to a guy in Minnesota for $1500 who is really into Duo-Sonics. I just couldn't handle the short scale length. I offered to give the previous owner 90% of the sale but he said it was ok and wouldn't take anything. I got a real 1956 Jensen P12R last week to put in the amp in place of the Weber 12A150 (P12N clone) that I had been using. Sounds great of course and now it is worth a lot more with the right speaker. Cosmetically it is a 10 too. He hardly used it over the years.

If you keep your ears and eyes open you can find good deals sometimes. :)
