if I had that opportunity I would take it.  but I'm in the bread basket of Canada, one of the few places on earth where our economy is nuts.

If the reverb and tremelo is working I'd consider it a bargain if the cab was JBL loaded, and probably pay $500 even if it wasn't.

I bought a Sceptre head here in NH for $300 last week. Some nicks and dings, but the electronics are perfect and it sounds awesome. The power tube distortion is amazing.

For the record, while the 1x15" speaker may be an original Sunn cabinet, it's not an original Sceptre cabinet. That was a 42"x24"x15" 4x12" cabinet.

Yep, from the factory it looked like this. I have no idea what's up with the labels on the drivers, I'm pretty sure I was the first person to open the cabinet after it left the factory. Maybe it was a boring day in Tualatin.

EdBass,
I have a similar cabinet.......4x12 in the zig-zag configuration. Mine is older, with the old-style grill cloth and Jensen speakers that look to be original. The cool thing is that the cabinet is signed on the inside and dated on my 14th birthday (1968)! How crazy is that?

Thanks Mel. It sounds fantastic, I wish played guitar! How I got it is one of those "urban legend" type stories.
About 3 years ago, an associate of mine in the midwest scanned and sent me a print ad from a small local community weekly for a "Sunn Bass Amp" with no other description. I called the number, the original owner had passed and his son was little help, he "thought" his daddy played bass, but I got enough of a description ("it's about 4, 4 and a half feet tall or so, maybe couple feet wide, and yeah, it's got tubes in it like an old TV, I think the name begins with an S") to figure out that it was a 60/80 watt tube amp and drove a couple of hours out into the country the next time I was in the area.
What you see is what is was. It was brand new, he told me his dad bought it when he was in his 40's, around 1969 or so, and only used it a couple of times in a C&W band before he stopped playing out, and the amp sat in the music room of their family house under a sheet since then. I've attached a closeup pic of the back of the amp, you can see how pristine it is. Mullard 12AU7 and 6AN8, Amperex 12AX7, and a pair of USA Tung Sol 6550's, everything tests new. With the original footswitch.

I gave him what he was asking, no dickering. If I told you what I paid, you wouldn't believe me!

What I should probably do is sell it to some who would use it. It just sits in my shop.
