That green LED needs to be able to withstand 30mA. If it burns out, the channel select will stop working.

i just finished building a footswitch with this schematic using an XLR cable and the jack from allied electronics.  the cable was tested beforehand, all the connections are good to my knowledge, but it does not work. nothing lights up, the amp works fine with the footswitch plugged in though. am I missing something? should the LED's be oriented positive leg to ground as in the schematic? I used 1n4001 diodes

i also omitted the reverb switch, as this is for a beta bass

The Cathode of an LED is usually indicated by a small flat spot in the otherwise round rim at the base of the LED. The other lead is the Anode, that lead goes to ground in the Beta footswitch. Check the logic levels according to the schematic (reply #7) in this thread: http://sunnforum.ampage.org/sdp/index.php/topic,6815.0.html

got it working. the jack was wired differently from the schematic inside the head. thanks!

If I just want the beta bass footswitch, I just need to swap the reverb part? all the others values are good for the bass version too?

Yes, for a Beta Bass just leave off the Reverb switch and the wire that goes to the connector.

Thanks a lot for the answer (my profile visualdistortion stoping working, so I made this one). I got a completely new Sunn Beta Bass few weeks a go, I will do the footswitch tomorrow. I think, I will change the internal connection to a Neutrick chassis TRS jack. So 1N4001 will work with the amp?
