New user with a few questions

hey guys
awesome board
i've been reading it for the past few days

over the summer i picked up a sunn concert lead with a 3 12 cab

just tonight
i picked up another sunn cab
it's a 6 by 10

there is no model number on it
no serial number either


first question

did sunn make another 6 by 10 cab other than the 610L
because this one does not look anything like the pics of the 610L's that i've seen
there's a simple black and white badge on the top left corner
black grill cloth
two handles on the side
the speakers are angled inward like the 610L though

trust trying to identify this cabinet
and possible get some specs on it
ohm rating would be nice



second question

could i run this 6 by 10 cab
and the 3 by 12 cab

with the sunn concert lead
without doing any damage

i don't want to destroy any of this gear

but if i could run it all together that would just be awesome

would you advise doing that
or should i just try to find another head?

Yours looks like an earlier 70's model with replaced grill cloth and painted corners. The later 70's models had white baffle boards and the 610L logo. Does yours have a removable back?

looking at the back there does seem to be small crease in the tolex around the frame
but i don't honestly see a way to remove the back at all

Yes, looks like a 610S.

The 312S and the 610S are both nominally 6 ohm cabinets. Closer to 5.3, the way most people calculate impedance. The original silver and black Concert series amps were rated down to 4 ohms. I'd think long and hard before running two 5.3 ohm cabinets on one of those. The later black faced, red knobbed Concert series were rated down to 2 ohms, but consensus seems to be that they can't really handle that long term. however, two 5.3 ohm cabinets works out to 2.7 ohms, which is a bit higher. I'd think they could do it, but more knowledgeable people might say I'm wrong.

So, which one ya got?

i checked out the back while i was at the practice space last night
and you're right
min load is 4ohm

so now i gotta figure out how to get this second cabinet into the picture
