Beta Lead Ohm Question
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:19:55 pm »
After playing for 25+ years, I should know this stuff but I don't so thanks in advance for any advice. I always play tube amps (Orange and Marshall) and just run the 16ohm outs to my 16ohm cabs. I just picked up a Sunn Beta Lead 2x12 combo and I love the hell out of it - almost the perfect tone for what my band plays. I want to run an extension cab with it and probably gig with it. It has 2 4ohm outs and one is hooked to the internal speaks which leaves one open 4ohm for an extension cab. I have an old Marshall 4x12 that is 8ohms that I don't really use - so my question is this -- can I use the extra speaker extension (at 4ohms) into my 8ohm cab, leave the internal speakers hooked up and not blow anything up? I'd love to run a 6x12 (internal speakers and the extension cab) with this thing, would be beyond sick running jointly with my Orange RV100 halfstack.
