Newbie content....just bought a set of 4 Eminences taken from a 1971 Sunn 4x12

yea, so I am new here......I picked these up for $51 for a set of four. Here is the info from the auction:


"Four 12" Eminence Speakers - 8 ohm (I tested them to range from 7.2 to 7.8 ohms).
A little dirty,some minor scratches,dents,etc...but work great,sound great and cheap!

Manufactured 1971 - code # 67 7152 - Mint conditions are going around $75 each.
They are from a Sunn 4 x 12 cabinet"
I read good things about Sunn, so I thought, what the heck! $50 is not a bad price for 4 speakers.........I am going to use them with a Marshall Vintage Modern in a Fender cab. Does this sound like a good thing?
I know I"ll find out for myself soon enough but I thought I'd ask for opinions/thoughts here...

First -welcome to the forum.   Great deal on the speakers.  I had the Sunn 412L cab and it was choice.  I can't speak for how they'll do in a different cab, but probably ok.  Let your ears guide you, of course.

thanks! it was good to find a resource like this. i currently have a fender ge412 (or something like that) that is wired for 8 ohms so i will just do a simple replacement.
it was a little risky buying them heard unheard but for $50, i can afford it
with the vintage modern i definitely didn't want a new sounding speaker......so i figured what the hey!

That's a damn good deal you got there! I bet that they'll sound really nice in that Fender GE412 of yours.

oh , here is the actual link to the auction: do you think i'll be ok running a 100 watt marshall through these? i didn't have time to ask before bidding......
