Load on concert bass head
« on: June 20, 2009, 12:55:36 pm »
Will a 1977 black face red knob Concert Bass head handle a load under 4 ohm's
I have a 3-12 cab rated at 6 ohms but I believe it is actually 5.something and a 1-15 rated at 8 ohms will the concert bass tolerate both these cabs together?

The 3-12 and 1-15 cabs worked great with the Concert Bass head,
I ran the volume between 4 and 5 all night with no problems tone was great

I picked the Sunn 3-12 cab up for $100.00 and the Sonic1 cab. with a D140 for
$150.00, DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your amp will probably be ok with that load. If the amp gets too hot, it will shut off to protect itself. If you are playing in a hot club or outside, it's a good idea to have a fan blowing on the back of the amp (and you). Don't block the holes in the bottom of the amp. If the amp has broken feet on the bottom, replace them.
