« on: June 22, 2009, 09:28:01 am »
I'm looking for a old Model T I have a reissue, but would really Like a Original. If any one has one for sale let me know. I can't afford the prices on E bay!!!! If any one has a cheap non-working one that would be great. I have a friend that would help me restore one, if one where to come along.

I really LOVE the newbies with less than five Post who join seemingly JUST to find a Model T. Hey dusde, we ALLL want Model T's.
You aent going to find one here from some unsiuspecting seller who will sell cheap.
In the 90's Mode;l T's were eeverywhere , for less than 5 bills. Noone includeing me knew about them, and noone includeing me wanted one. Now we have all the bandwagon Jump[ers comeing here thinkiong they can get a Model T cheap here.
Its Hilarious.

You can't really fault the dude for trying. I mean, you are right that they've appreciated greatly over the years, and that it's very unlikely that someone is just going to post on here selling their 1st Gen 73 Model T for $400. However, there's no point in being crass about it. I know when I found this forum I was anxious to find similar dream-deals, and I've made some killer scores through this site, whether directly, or through people posting links to other sites.

Anyhow, I'm one of those people who sucked it up and bought via eBay.  I can afford to, so I did, but as far as people posting their gear for cheap, it happens.  Believe me. I've seen Sunn cabs going for $100 CAD. Hell, I just bought an Acoustic 406 for $250.  I've scored incredible deals by being persistent in checking around, and hopefully this dude will, too.

My point is, don't pick on someone for giving something a fair shot. We've all been there, so have heart dude. Hopefully this person will appreciate that this forum is full of knowledgeable folks, and will make the most of what they've stumbled across.

This coming from a person with only 60 post!!!! You are still a newbie!!!! I'm not on here to swindle anybody, I know that there are people like myself who love and appreciate these amps on this forum. I am not a bandwagon jumper I own several Sunn amps, just not a first gen. model T. I settled on the reissue, because I thought I would never find one. Then I jumped on the bandwagon for the internet. Lo an behold I came across this site, thought maybe someone might have one they would sale. This is the classifieds, right???? I did not realize there where such elitist on this site. I thought as before that this was a community of people who love and appreciate Sunn Amps. You sir are just a plain a**hole!!!! I don't Know you and you don't know me. I am also not here to make judgment on anyone. I think it is great that younger folks are finding out about these Great amps let the legacy of Sunn live on and not letting it die with the likes of you. I do realize with more people knowing of Sunn amps, It does drive up the cost, Unfortunately.  We all have to suffer the high cost. If I had 2 grand I would gladly pay that for 1st gen. Model T, I  unfortunately do not have that kind of cash. And thought this would be a great place to start.

I've posted this link before, but here is a cool site that consolidates Craigslist postings nationwide along with Ebay.  Model Ts come up from time to time and it pays to be vigilant.  Good luck!

Low post count does not a "Newbie" make  IMO.  Not on this website.
I have been monitoring this site almost every day for the last couple of years and only have 177 posts.  Why?  I read. I learn.  I'm not knowledgeable enough to give out technical advise about amp repairs and the like, but I read the threads and leave the advice giving to the Ed Bass' of the Sunn world.  (a man's got to know his limitations).
So am I a relative Newbie?  I suppose in the strictest sense of the word
(by post count) I certainly am.  But I don't feel like one.

And, HEY, In two + years I think you are the first to resort to any name calling that I can remember.  I think you could have both made your points in a much more civil manor that would be more in keeping with the mood and atmosphere that usually prevails on this website.
(Just my $.02)

Thanks for the compliment, but I try to limit my advice giving to things I'm sure about, and my overall scope of knowledge about amp tech is very narrow compared to some of the posters on this forum.
We are blessed with some serious "solder jockey" members who readily share their knowledge with this forum.

And with very few exceptions, people play nice here!

Yeah, I am always looking on the bay. That unfortunately is still too much for me. I guess I will have to win the lottery to get such a amp. I won't give up though, I have been looking for these for like 12 yrs + and I have come across some other sunn amps. That I thought I would never get.  Thanks for the heads up!!!

Just bought a beta lead through this link, maybe you'll find a old model T here. I'm from Europe and it's really hard to get a Sunn amp here. Bought a model T in Berlin a few months ago.

p.s anybody has a beta lead footswitch up for sale?

I have a Model T for sale on eBay.  The auction is up in about 3 hours.  The current bid is $710.00.  It is a good amp, I have owned it for 18 years.  Just in case anyone is looking and interested.
