6x10s
« on: June 30, 2009, 08:33:23 am »
I bought one of these a few weeks ago and hand a question about this particular cab.
My question is: Do you have to use both input jacks to run all six speakers?
I have looked to see if anyone posted a similar question and even did a search, couldn't find anything concerning this.
The person  I bought it from said he bought it from a friend who was the original owner. He said that everything is original and nothing was modded or changed. He also told me to run all 6 speakers I had to use both inputs on the cab. Is this really how they where wired? I am a bit confused on this. I tried plugging into just one and then the other but could not tell if I was running just 3 or all 6. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand, both jacks should be hooked together. If one speaker fails open, the one across from it will go silent. Often you can still see it move but that's just from the air pressure in the cabinet from the other speakers that are still working. That's not to say that someone may have changed the wiring of the cabinet or there is a bad connection in the wiring. The thing to do is test the cab with a battery to make sure all the speakers are working.

If you have to use both jacks to power all six speakers, then someone has messed with the wiring.

Thanks for the help!!!!! I looked into it and each jack does power all six. I thought that was the case, then the person I bought if from told me really didn't know what he was talking about. I was confused, appreciate the help.

To those in the know:  The second jack would probably be to "piggey-Back" the cab to another cab, wouldn't it ?
