Can anyone i.d. this mixer?
« on: July 31, 2009, 02:09:43 pm »
I have a Sunn Coliseum Controller. A huge, heavy console. 8 channels, built-in graphic EQ's, crossovers, and limiters. I found a picture of The Who using it in '72 or something.

It is not listed in the Sunn Museum. Anybody know how many were produced? Was it one of the custom things Sunn made just for The Who, or was it a regular ctalog item? Wonder if it might be valuable to a collector...

It was a regular catalog item. First shown in the 1971 catalog was available with one or two graphic EQs and optional power amplifiers, 2x120W. You could also downsize it to 4 or 6 channels. List price was $2000 to $3000 depending on options. Last year I can find it is 1975 and it's not in the 79 catalog. Sorry, missing 76 to 78 info. Probably not many of them made.
