U.H.C. Unidentified Head Cab
« on: January 14, 2010, 11:03:33 am »
Can anyone identify this head cab? Which model it was intended for? I am planning on putting it up on ebay for sale.

It might belong to a Mid-60's Smiley face Sunn amp.

Hmmm...I am unfamiliar with the "Smiley face" model. What threw me were the three holes or vents in cab.

From the four holes on the bottom, I'd say it was a 40W Smiley Face head. I'm not sure if the rectangular hole on the bottom is the same on 40W and 60W heads. Apparently the front panel, badge and chrome oval feet are missing.

Essentially, you hold the casing for a very nice amp.

I'd assume the 40 & 60 watt versions had similar casing, based on Sunn doing that with most models.  Maybe the long-lost amp is out there, looking for it's real home. :) Good luck!
