Strange noises from my Solarus
« on: February 04, 2010, 06:22:00 pm »
I've been noticing that my Solarus will at times make a bass-y almost fart noise. It's definitely the head, as I've tried a variety of cables, guitars, and positions(to eliminate something like radio signal interference from a mobile).

It seems to be stemming from the volume pot, but I'm not the most technically inclined, so any input would be great!

If you  have not had your amp re-capped within the last 10 years, I'd recommend that you take the amp to an amp tech. The power supply is the heart of the amp; if it is not functioning correctly, then the rest of the amp wiill suffer. Amp "farting" is a classic sign of power supply problems...I'd start here.

Thanks for the input!  I had a feeling that may be the issue, so I'm glad my novice skills aren't totally hopeless.
