OK Sunn electronics experts, I have a really odd one for you - Sunn 4x12 8ohm cab. BTW - Sunn Transducer 8ohm speakers (all four!)

We popped three of the speakers out and checked the connections which were good, all speakers look great, no tears, holes, the little wires from speaker connection all in place, or anything visually wrong with them, in fact they look great. I'm not sure anybody has ever been into this cab before and it's a pre Hartzell I think, no markings saying Hatzell on it and it says something like Sunburn Musical also on the bottom of the rear ID plate. All wiring looks good and solid. All connection to the jacks look good - in other words, NO VISIBLE ISSUES - but no sound out of it. It did have sound and we were playing and just stopped making sound. I thought it was the head originally (Sunn Enforcer).

It's not the head, we tried the Sunn head in other cabs and no problems, we tried my Orange into the Sunn cab, no sound. I am puzzled??
Any thoughts???

This is one of the best sounding cabs that I've ever heard, I want it back in working order!

Hae you tested each speaker to make sure they are all working?  There may have been a break in one of the lead wires.  Rewire the speakers  in the series/parellel configuration using new 18 or 16 gauge wire.  Then check the input jack to make sure that there are not any wires shorting across the input.

also if the leads are soldered to the jack and or speakers it could be a bad joint somewhere...

I  think the primary speaker in the chain taking the load blew, so I'm taking it up to my tech to check out. I have a multimeter and I can do the 9-volt test, but after taking it apart last night, I'm in no mood. Plus if it's something else like the the harness itself having a failure, he an just rewire for me.

So my next question is this -- those old Transducer speakers are just amazing sounding, can they be rebuilt?

Well, a little update on this situation. Took my tech Sat. He is running a complete diagnostic on the cab, checking the speakers, the wiring, making sure its series/parallel and 8ohms. I have a great local company here in town that can rebuild the speakers for half the price of new ones (or hell even used ones) that is very reputable, if the tech finds a bad speaker, he's gonna leave it out and I'll take up to the place, about a two week turn around time. So things are moving along.
