Beta Lead Foot Switch Questions
« on: May 14, 2010, 09:00:50 am »
Hello, again! Your friendly neighborhood dumb guitarist with more questions!

I have the incredibly weird and proprietary foot switch that controls the Beta Lead A/B and Reverb. The cable is sort of stiff and brittle and I would like to replace it. Suggestions on the type of cable to use? Someone told me to use "quad cable". I also have access to a lot of CAT5 ethernet cable; more wires than I need, strictly speaking, but pretty easy for me to get for cheap/free.

Now here is the pie-in-the-sky idea:

I also have a Digitech Control 2 that uses CAT5 cable to control a Digitech GSP1101. But I don't think it uses all of the pairs of the cable. I wonder if I can build an adaptor for each end of the cable so I can split the pairs I need to go to the Sunn and the Digitech unit, have a single run of CAT5 out to my foot switch and Control 2 board. Just brainstorming here :D

Ideas? Suggestions?
