412L Replaceable Grille?
« on: May 20, 2010, 12:01:18 pm »
I'm looking at getting this cab.

http://ventura.craigslist.org/msg/1748096213.html

It doesn't have the original grille, and has been "weed'd" out as you can see. But on a 412L cab what was the original grille like? Something I can redo? Does anyone know how to do it?

here is a pic of mine

It's pretty grimy lookin but hopefully that will give you an idea of what it looks like. Just some black grill cloth wrapped around a wooden frame.

There are four big screws that go through the frame into the cabinet.

Alright, cool. Seems simple enough. Looks like the original frame might still be in that cab too.

He hasn't gotten back to me. E-mailed twice, called once.

So screw it. If you can get it from him it's yours, I don't really want to put the work into it anyways.

You don't want to put the work into it? It's just a grill cloth replacement, and a cheap one at that. From the posts you've been making on here, you seem extremely anxious to get a hold of a Sunn 4x12 and this would be perfect for you. Sure, the grill cloth on there isn't that great ... but it's not complete shit. All that really matters is that it's loaded with the original Transducers and it's the original cab.

For the sake of mentioning it, my 412L has those hard snappy things.  Y'know, like velcro, but it's actually functios more like the teeth of a zipper. Anyway, something to consider.
