Wanting to tweak a beta Lea...help!
« on: June 17, 2010, 02:46:35 am »
I really like the overall character of it but I'd like to tighten up the bass a little bit.  I might want to cut off everything below 60hz really..it has a HUGE spike down there somewhere...scared the hell out of me when I saw my speakers flap like that!!  I think the output cap is a 2.2uf(located just up and to the left of the trim pot on the power amp layout page...p. 21) so changing that might help.  I'd also like to squeeze a little more gain out of it if I could.  Any ideas?  Here's the link to the schems...

It's on pages 14 and 15...careful...they overlap!  Also, how would different pot values affect this circuit?  They're all 100k and that just seems odd to me.  And would changing the volume pots to an audio taper help me to control the volume a little easier?  Thanks!

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a different amp?  LOL
(just kidding, really. I'm not knowledgeable enough technically to even know what you're talking about Ha Ha).

It looks to me as though you could replace C126 and C137 with 0.15uF caps for a 6dB/octave rolloff at 60 Hz, or 0.1uF for 80 Hz.
