FOR SALE: Sunn Coliseum Slave amp...
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:18:36 pm »
Early to mid-70s. Has the VU meter on the face. I'm having a new 3-sided enclosure made for the amp by a friend of mine in New Hamsphire. I found the original supplier of both the handles and those elusivefront  'L" corners, so this amp will look brand new when it's all bolted together! 100% functional. Last user ran, I believe it was, 3 Ampeg V-4s and 9 4x12 cabs thru this Slave. E-mail me directly at jayson_paul_agee@yahoo.com and we'll talk! Amp is located in northern New Jersey (zip code 07006). I look forward to finding a new home for this piece of Sunn history.

I received a small piece of paper, showing the INs and OUTs of how this Slave was wired, and there were, I believe, 3 V4s and 9 4x12s.

And I have some lake front property on the edge of Death Valley that I will sell real cheap!!!  This reminds me of  cross between two animals,  a Sea Gull and a male bovine..it's called a GULL -A- BULL. Or a piece of propety where they auction off steers...it's called LOT -O-BULL

Sounds a little strange to me,but 3 V-4's could run 9 - 4x12's cabs as long as they were 8 ohms. The Ampeg's impeadance switch goes down to 2 ohms, and the load would be 2.6 ohms / head.I don't want to guess as to how they've got the "slave" amp hooked up,I think the Ampeg rig would be fine as is.Be careful,Mel.

Sounds possible if the minimum load of each amp were 2 ohms and the cabs were 8 ohms each. As you said that would be a 2.6 ohm load for each amp...but where does the SLAVE come into the circuit :?

So what is the selling price? Sounds like you found American Handle Co.   :-)

Maybe you can expand the meaning of 100% functional?
