This is just a general rant....
I bought a beta lead 2 12 combo on ebay. Channel B mid and trebel are not functional, needs repair. Anyway, I play the A channel, and wow, I love the sound. I got a 4 "10 marshall cab with celestions, and my god, the beta sounds incredible through that cabinet. I think the 2 '"12 has eminence, but comparing the two is no contest, the marshall complely kicks ass. So I bought a second beta lead head from ebay that arrived today. Item NOT as described! Evil noises, intermittant operation, reverb doesn't work...I'm working with the guy I bought it from to work something out...
The beta foot switch I have doesn't switch channels on either amp, so thats another thing to get fixed!
If I didn't hear how good they can sound I probably would have just bought something from the local music store, but they're just too cool for words, these amps. The interaction of the drive and tone and reverb is really interesting when you're shaping tone. Really loud.
I'm just pissed I gotta dig around inside and try and fix them instead of playing music. I built two solid state stereos that turned out okay, but the time sink for me is way to much.
These forums are a great. Music-electronics also has some good sunn info.
