SA11 Sunn Amplifier
« on: November 06, 2010, 02:12:06 pm »
I've inherited a job running the sound system for our small church. The sound system is made up of a Sunn SA11 Amp, Cutec MX 1242 mixer, a dual tape deck. There is a CD recorder that is waiting to be connected to the system.

Of course, there are no manuals or drawings for anything except the CD deck.

I found an old posting for the manual on the SA11 amp, but it is no longer valid. Does anyone have a link for this manual or the Cutec mixer?

Thank you.

The SA 11 is functionally the same as a SA 21, and nearly like the SA 10 and SA 20, which don't have meters nor balanced inputs. Everything the manual might tell you is already stencilled on the cabinet. It is a good idea to get the amp cleaned, the fan can really pack it in, if this has been in an install for 30 years. A very straightforward and rugged solid state amplifier, parts are still common. So, do you put up some "If it's too loud, you're too old: Sunno)))" notices in the sanctuary  :-o ?

Thanks for the feedback. I did open the amp up and cleaned it real good. Lots of dust. I haven't pushed the amp much. The worship team want the monitors turned up so loud that it provides enough sound for the whole church building. I have all the equipment hooked up but am trying to figure why I am not getting good tape reccordings. Payback volume has to be turned way up to hear the recording.
