Rocker Switch

I just found it on e-bay, never saw this link in this forum :

Well, the price is quite high for a rocker switch. I`m not quite shure if they do fit in the 200s plate.

I understand your concern on price. I was perplexed what to sell them for. Take this into consideration, A custom made to spec switch could run as high as 17.00 plus, depending on whom you order from. Not to mention the bulb replacement kits i have seen for 22.00. I new i was going to get beat up for the price here on the forum.I haven't taken my first generation Model T apart yet. But i am pretty sure it is the same switch. Anybody confirm? I will be selling the model T amp soon.

sorry, that should not sound like I`m really concerned about the price, though I have never payed 17$ for a rocker switch. Though I think it`s great that there are so many people trying to get the "real stuff" for the old Sunn amps, like the member who did the knobs 2 years ago. Should the switches fit with the 200S/2000S amps when they fit with the Model T?

handle covers for over $9 - they cost $.90/ea through Reliable Hardware!!!!!!

The covers are .97 a piece.  Then ad the shipping cost. Then ad what ebay charges to run the ad. The final evaluation fee. Then ad the paypal fee. Holy cow. I make maybe 3 bucks. I sure couldnt live off what i make on the sunn stuff i have on ebay. Let alone the hours and years to locate. ITs more of a passion for me.
 But here is the point: I am just try to put together any of the replacement parts that are normaly hard to come by so you can get them from one guy.
I am working on a new item. The little nickel brace that goes on the lower front corner of the concert lead. It cost me 14.00. I have used a micrometer and talked to the guy on the phone. Anxious to get them. But if it doesnt pan out. I am out 14.00. That is the way it was with switches. Wanna buy some real close switches cheap.

They don't cost $14 either - do I get a finders fee now? I still think $9 for the covers is too much - I do ePay all the time and it comes out to a 10% COS with everything added. I'll sell you my knobs for $10 each if you want to be the one stop shop   .

BTW Reliable sells direct - that's where I get hardware for repairs. They also were a supplier for Polytone in case you want to ponder another business model for spare parts.

If your talking about the 9007 1/2. They had to go get one while i was on the phone. Who i talk to was conected with sunn. Clamps was never sold to sunn. At least that is what he said. And the was something wrong with the measurement. I would half to look through my notes. The width seemed right. It may have been the leg to the centerline of the hole. The 14.00 is from another source.

I think if you do a search you'll find a thread where someone references American Handle Co as a source for Sunn hardware. I've put their parts on many Sunn amps and I can't tell the difference.

The switch for the Concert sold on ebay will NOT fit a 200S/2000S amp. The required hole is bigger because of the flange. It should fit the Model T and Coliseum however. I gave away some switches (used and not exactly like Sunn switches) to a member of this board and shipped them by priority mail. He said he wanted to send me some money so I ask him for $10 which didn't even cover my shipping cost. He hit me with a bad Karma smite and still frequents this board. I've got a few words I'd like to say about the mating preference of his ancestors.

How did you get parts from American Handle? I phoned yesterday and was told that they only sell commercially. Minimum order for handles was 100 pieces.

I had a short list, but could have narrowed it down to just a couple of items. All I really need is four right angle clamps (these take the place of the bottom corners on older Concert and Coliseum slaves) and a single rectangular handle cap for my Sorado cabinet.

Anyone have an account there and willing to help me, or does anyone have the name of a friendly sympathizer there who will handle small orders for non-commercial individuals?

I contacted American Handle several weeks ago and got the same reply - 1000 piece minimum order.  However, here's alead that they gave me.  I've cut and pasted it here for all to see.

Robert, our minimums are fairly high.  I suggest either McMaster-Carr Supply Co. or Ohio Travel Bag Co.  They are distributors & might be able to assist you.

That's what i got a year ago when i called american handle. For one or few pieces. I bought from reid supply. You give them an order. They contact american. Then get back to you with a price. Then you ok that and place order. Well i decided to buy thousands from American Handle to have an account.

I was just tying to make things more accessible through ebay. When your done buying from reid and pay shipping. I am not a whole lot higher on price.
Honestly, as i said in an earlier post. The ebay and paypal fees is horrible. The ebay cost for a buy it now and list fee is 4.70 to sell ONE handle. The paypal fee is only 1.38.
Here is a copy and past for one handle from my ebay fee summary(Nov-24-10 09:48:18 PST Final Value fee US $4.20) also ad .50 for insertion fee.

I do have the angle corners. I havnt decided what to list them for. Cost,how many at a time because the concert only takes 2,the coliseum takes at least 4 and i will include stainless screws.

I would be happy to sell to the guys here on the forum minus the ebay fee on anything i have on ebay.

I bought some handle caps and switch from akindle.  Slapped the caps on and they were a perfect fit on my concernt lead.  $10.  So what.  Dude wants to go to the trouble of finding this stuff, good for him, well worth the money IMHO.

Also bought a switch, havent done anything with it yet but soon.  It's a nice match.
