200S: Bringing it up the first time
« on: February 15, 2011, 11:12:12 am »
Major gut and retro on the 200S and now it is ready to see if I did it right.

I thought I would bring it up on a variac without tubes and see if anything sizzles.

Any suggestions or ideas?

So far so good.
Had it at 120v for about an hour and no stink, smoke or excessive heat. A very slight hum from somewhere.
No speakers plugged in

Guess I will try the tubes that came with it first.
A couple of Peavey 6550As

Success !

Found one pin that I had forgot to solder on the 6AN8. That kept me going for a couple hours.

Now for some nice new tubes.
