so i think im just going to get black tolex. i've always liked the marshall stuff, but mostly just looking for tough-as-nails.  any suggestions?  i'm not going for the original look, that's all in the guts.

ASC's "Nubtex" is pretty durable. Mojo carries it as "Mojotone Rough Black Tolex".

Hey man, not to seem like a downer here, but if you got those plans from Conrad, and paid for them, it's probably not for the best to be giving them out for free. I was asked not to hand out my plans. If you found them for free on the net, then Freaking awesome! Good to see them.

any of you guys have any experience with spray on truck-bed liner?  been talking to my friend who builds cabs and swears by it.  sounds easier, stronger, and cleaner to work with than doing tolex.

If those were your plans, I think it's OK to post them. I think what the concern is if you were posting the actual plans that Mr. Sundholm was selling, which would be very uncool.

nope, they were home-made.  i re-uploaded our plans if anyone wants them.  Like i said, these were made with information readily available on this very forum without any contact with conrad sundholm whatsoever.

I thought about that stuff when I was about to do my cabinet.
I guess it would depend on the talent of the guy that was shooting the cabinet. It kind of reminds me of dry wall texture, except of course more industrial.
Not sure if you could shoot it in parts or if that would make seams. I guess you could rig up some kind of big axle that would allow the entire cabinet to be shot in one continuous spray while it was being rotated. The axle would have to be fixed to the inside of the cabinet so you could get all exposed sides.

If you could use that stuff, you could glue the back on and front mount the speakers.

we got some black herculiner that rolls on, he's using the same stuff for the boat's deck.  i understand conrad sundholm has built a few boats.
