where did you find it?

looks great!

in Sherbrooke, 2 hours drive from Montreal. totally worth the drive. I know this might be the only 1st gen in the whole province of Quebec! I'm the 3rd owner and everything's been already take cared of so no tune up needed. might have my tech to take a look at it just to know what's the shape of the tubes and everything.

There's only one CTS Sunn Guitar Transducer speaker left in the cab. But I have another one I kept in a box. it's the vertical side ported version.

But even playing with the only one speaker left I was speachless! seriously thinking about selling all my pedals and using the amp straight in! theirs no words to say how good it sounds...

I'm going for a jam now so I just can't stand in place. :-P

here's a quick family pic after I drop it yesterday:

will take more today! and some clips!

we've put the bass in the right half rig and me in the left. crazy! :-o bi-amping is the key!

and finally feeling like using both dirt pedal also!

Hi,

is it an e609 or an e906 you use with the guitar cab?

e906! worth the extra $ imo, I use the dark setting, my best mic for a low-end guitar tone.

yes, they are really great! Worked live with tehm a couple if times: fast and easy. Some punk guitarmen prefer the e609.

For real low end in Studio you should try one of these:

Don`t let the price fool you!

....and add an SM 57 for attack. Really great!

cool, ribbon mics must be cool, 8 pattern let's you get some of the room too I guess? but can you put it close? maybe not too much. but the one you have is 148dB SPL limit!

we might have to start a mic/recording thread...with clips...!

Yes, it gets a lot of the room with the 8. The best results (...so far) were with an 15W Gibson and (I was surprised too) the ribbon Mic very close to the speaker. I added two NT 5a for stereo and ...vola, the sound was great, just a littele compressor on it! Though I was really surprised about the quality (structure and sound) of the ribbon microphone.

I`m working on bass sounds and "fatter" guitarsounds at this very moment.

The only thing I dont`t like is the phantom power, it will kill it in a second.

Greetings

Ribbon mics are great! I wish I owned one. Beware though, they're (most of them anyways) aren't used for close miking. I think it would sound awesome as an ambient mic to capture the full sound - in stereo!!

That's what tought, it would make a nice mic for room or maybe a feet and up from the speaker.
For now the overhead mics on drum gives a good room take to my all rig...
You actually need room mics to capture the growl imo.
