I bought mine for $290 (pair) US last year, and they were in better condition. I'm also looking at some more in good condition for $240 (for the pair), so while I'm not sure what the exchange rate is right now, that seems a little bit high, especially for how beat those appear. Just my experience though.

ok thanks for sharing info.

I'm waiting for a reply from the seller to see what's the exact condition. I'll try to negotiate from there if it's worth it.

I've been earring so much about these so I figure if I have the chance to get one and ear it myself, it would be nice.

It's not real easy to tell from a picture, but the cone on the right doesn't seem factory, and it looks like there is a repair on the bottom.
also the one on the left looks "funny", the magnet cover seems too wide and squared off. I bought a pair of K140-6's last weekend for $250, the 16 ohms are nice for getting an 8 ohm 2X15 cab.

You know Ed, I hadn't even noticed the left speaker. I saw that one on the right looked like a recone, but you're right, the left one's magnet magnet cover does look much to angular at the edge. They usually have a much more sloping, domed cover. Strange.

On closer inspection, the one on the left doesn't appear to have the voice coil vent either. It looks very JBLish though, I wonder what it is?

The squared magnet on the left looks like what was used on the K145 but everything eles looks like a 140. Maybe it is some type of hybrid?

I thought that same thing, that it looked like a magnet cover for a K145. I think I remember that the 145 had a vented cover though, I think I've got a pair somewhere, I'll have to look.
It doesn't have the heavy basket lip that a 145 does though, maybe it's just a 145 magnet cover on a 140?

Yeah the extra heavy magnet on a 140 with a K140 cone would be interesting to check out! Let us know how it goes Chev and if you can get a photo of the fronts.

Ed, what do you think of the K145 vs the K140's?
It was one of JBL's most advanced drivers and supposed to be able to go deeper then the 140's.

Unfortunetly, still no news from the seller? when I ask the state of the cone if it was recone he didn't respond...

I even let my phone number and tell him I was serious about them...that doesn't look too good. :?

Has anyone ever checked to see how many times EdBass has said "I think I've got one of those some where"?

It's a combination of too much stuff and too few functioning brain cells left.

I think they're bassier, but the 140's are more articulate. The 140's are better for me, but a a bass playing buddy of mine feels the same about 145's. It depends on what you like personally.
By the way, those aren't magnets that you see on those drivers, those are just covers. The actual magnets are much smaller, but I don't know if a 140 cone would fit the heavier frame and different motor of a 145. I kind of doubt it since the recone kits I've seen list the 140 and 145 kits separately with different pricing.
