Coliseum Lead Identification

Hi guys, very new to the board and im hoping you can help me!

Ive been after a model t for a while now, which was the initial amp that got me interested in sunn

I stumbled upon this Colisuem Lead at a store whilst on holiday here in PA, haven't heard it yet but im considering going back to try it out, the tone control on the reverb looks fun!

It would be great to know a bit more about this model, the owner assures me its a pre-fender 70's unit.

From googling the Coliseum Lead ive seen very different looking units, and im wondering if any of you can tell if this model is an older or later version, and is it considered more or less desirable?

Judging from the catalog thread, it was produced somewhere in the 1976-1978 time frame.

I have this model of the Coliseum Lead. It's the most badass solid state amp I've ever heard. 399.00 is a steal. Most people are shocked by the tone I get out of it and are surprised it's solid state. I use a russian big muff and a flying v with a super distortion pickup and I get sustain for days.

thanks guys, so it seems its the later coliseum lead!

are the earlier models considered better?
is this a good price? (i feel like it is)

thanks for the heads up rockingham, i was considering using a big muff too!

*edit*

after trying it out and scaring myself with the volume at 2 i decided it was for me!

got it for $275, pretty happy with it

serial on the back is S-00304, does that give any clue as to what year it is?

just a follow up...

i had to put it in the baggage hold of the plane, but it made it back ok...
the power switch came off but its a simple fix!

the only issue im having is it says on the back it needs a 900 watt power supply
so im struggling to find a step down converter (to drop the 240v here to 110v) thats 900 watts.

any europeans on the board have any advice and done something similar?
