Being poor sux, I need to sell one of my loved amps. Not sure which one, this is hard to type because I don't even want to sell one of them. I'll be posting on CL this week at some point, thought I'd go here first. Prices, hell I don't even know - if you have interest, lets discuss:
1. Sunn Beta Lead combo 2x12 with original footswitch. Cab has been painted black on the inside and has a metal grille cover, other than that its cosmetically fine. Its my daily use home amp. I write all the fuzz songs on it, so it has a lot of sentimental value.
2. Sunn Enforcer head. Rare as you all know. Has been fully serviced about a year or so ago by Dave Smith (Dabeck Amps) in Dallas. Was re-tubed with JJs - he gave ti a clean bill of health. I had Dave build a footswitch for it so it can now do the A/B/AB thing (like a Beta Lead). This amp has the most crazy fuzzed out gain, similar to a Matamp but not as gnarly.
I have a vintage 70s Sunn 4x12 (8ohm with original Transducer speakers but I had to have 2 rebuilt by Freeman-Tuell) but I'll keep it most likely and use with whatever amp doesn't sell - but as of now it might be available for the right price. I use it with the Enforcer at the moment.
I know this is a bit flakey sounding but one needs to go and I can't decide. I like them both a lot. I was in the same situation in 1995 and I had to sell one of two cars I had - a 1972 Cuda or a 1971 Plum Crazy R/T Charger. That one REALLY stung. I sold the Cuda and kicked myself ever since, that was one cool car.
