coliseum lead question
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:15:10 pm »
i have a coliseum lead.  at practice yesterday, it just died.  lost power.  i shut it down quickly.  i turned it off and on a few times.  nothing.  well, i left it in the on position while checking other things.  then, all of a sudden, it turned back on by itself.  sounded fine.  finished practice.

any idea what could have happened?

Hi there, sounds like you have an intermittant conncetion, could be a bad solder conn. Did the pilot light go out when there was no sound ? Check the on/off switch, might need to be cleaned, check the circuit breaker/fuse also known to go bad from being bumped, and check your AC cable and plug.Good luck,Mel.

thanks for the info mel.  yes, the light did go out. i think i may take a peek inside and check for a bad solder joint and the plugs.  a very random thing indeed.

You might check the mains cable with a DMM (DO NOT work on the amp connected to 120V mains) - I have found that the +30 year old mains cable connectors become intermittent.
