Model T power tranny question

Hi All!  I am very happy to see a site dedicated to highly "underrated" vintage Sunn amps!  I own a '73 Model T and love it.  I use it as a bass amp and it gets the "growl" with my Jazz bass.

I do have a question.  I have noticed that my power transformer gets pretty hot (ie. I can only lay my hand over it for about 3-5 seconds before getting unconfortable).  I've heard these Sunn tranny's are rock solid (at least the early 70's ones).  Does anybody else experience this?

Has the circuitry been checked out? You might have a short somewhere.

I haven't had a "pro tech" check it.  I have checked and set the bias on the output tubes and checked the plate voltage and everything's okay.  I installed new GE 6550s and set the bias according to specs (around 50ma per tube @504Vdc on the plates).  The amp works fine, and I've been told that this is probably par for the course and not to worry.
