Hardly, a D140 is only about 15.5 lbs, a pound lighter than an Eminence Kappa Pro. You can overnight a D140 from NY to LA for $80, Parcel Post is only about $26.
If that's too steep, maybe you could find one local...

Shipping would be whatever the cost is and no more. They are heavy as far as speakers go, but nowhere near the weight of an EV! I think Ed's estimate is probably close to what it would be though I would have to check to be sure.
