Greetings
Being new to the forum, I will probably ask questions that have been asked repeatedly, so I will apologize in advance for my ignorance and ask for patience.

I have been using a Sceptre that was a gift. I find it has power to push my drivers and can be crisp or muddy, depending on how I config my Digitech GNX1. However: when I run through it "Raw-Dog" sot to say, it's loud, but lacking in bravado and presence, regardless of the settings. It's jus loud, clean, and plenty-o-bass.
Being a bit of a hard rocker that kinda thrives on gain, I would ask this of your experience(s):
is there a tube/cap setup config that will make the old dog bark? I mean, it has power, why won't it scream on it's own?
Pickups:
axe#1- Dimarzio dual sound w/ tap and a cheap humbucker
axe#2- Warlock w/ BC Rich stock pickups)

I ran an Ampeg 2x12 for years, with a DOD overdrive, an EQ and a cry baby. Loud, metallic, but muddy. Got the Digitech and it made a big diff, but after hearing recordings, I could still hear that mud!
Now I'm running a Behringer 4x12 using the GNX1 and I frackin' luv it! Butt... in the recordings and sometimes while playing I can still hear the mudd...
Tubes? Caps? has anyone discovered an option for a natural overdrive?
Thanx and ROCK ON!!!
