Sunn Enforcer question: running 2 cabs?
« on: November 07, 2013, 02:11:49 pm »
I just picked up a sunn enforcer head at a garage sale.  The amp has 2 speaker output jacks: 8ohm and 4ohm@100 watts, or 16ohm and 8ohm@ 60 watts.  If I'm running 2 8ohm cabs at 100 watts do I use both of the speaker out jacks or do I use the 4ohm out jack and a Y-cable to split to the 2 cabs?
I don't know anything about the amp so I downloaded the owners manual, but that didn't answer my question.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a schematic for that amp. It has an unusual arrangement for the speaker jacks. You should connect only to the 4 ohm jack and use a Y cord or daisy chain the two 8 ohm cabinets.

Where did you find the owners manual?

Here several SUNN Enforcer related items combined into one PDF file for convenience.

The Enforcer user manual.
Information on the mid-1984 mod to address channel crosstalk.
The Enforcer's schematic.
The Enforcer's footswitch schematic.

The main schematic is difficult to read being reduced as small is it was (originally was 11 1/2 x 18).  If you would like email me and I will email you an electronic version (it is an .exe file or I would attach it here) which is scalable and clear.
