Replacement speaker for SB200
« on: November 02, 2001, 09:36:00 am »
I have a Sunn SB200 that I have been crankin'through since I bought it new back in 1985. Problem is, the single 15" stock factory speaker is shot. I would like any info or input as to what to replace it with.I was thinking either a JBL or Peavy Black Widow. I play a G&L L2000e with no effects. RotoSound strings. Simple blues stuff. Any help out there? Norm?

I have always had great luck with the Carvin PS15C-8.  Costs about a hundred bucks.  So far, it works everywhere.  Just my opinion, but I would stay away from Peavey products.
Heads up, everybody!

Thanks RB! I've heard good things about Carvin. I believe I might take your advice. What does everyone have against Peavey? I've had a lot of good luck with Peavey in general and the Black Widow in particular. Did I miss a meeting or something?

Got a techie question. Probably a dumb one. I just took apart my SB200 and the back of the speaker says 4 ohm but the manual says it should be an 8 ohm. What am I missing here?
