Audio or linear taper pots?
« on: February 04, 2002, 11:39:00 am »
Hi all.  Are the pots in the three-knob Sunns (200S, Sonaro, Sonic-I, etc.) suppose to be all audio-taper, linear, or some combination thereof?  Also, what are the respective codes for these types?  "B" for linear and "A" for audio?  Methinks the guy who had my Sonaro before me stuck a linear-taper pot on the volume and it sounds like it!

Thanks!

Hello:
Audio taper pots have a logarithmic curve.
Linear taper just say linear
B taper were a modified log
S taper start slow - are linear in the middle range - then slow again at the high end. Variations of these were usually proprietary for a given equipment manufacturer.
