Sunn Stage Bass Schematic Wanted
« on: March 24, 2014, 02:41:25 am »
I just bought a Sunn Stage Bass amp (combo, 1x15, volume, bass, treble, presence). Does anyone have a schematic or any info on this amp? Thanks in advance.

Ryan

Look here: http://www.ssguitar.com/index.php?topic=2399.15

The above link takes you to page 2 of the thread that has the Studio Lead schematic and layout. On page 1 there is a schematic for the Bass version. The Lead and Bass versions used the same PCB.

I don't have much info on these amps. Any idea when it was made? Date codes on any of the parts?

Thanks Loudthud! I can't get the attachment to open. Can you send it through this forum?

Here is a photo of the interior chassis. Several components date to 1974. Everything looks original and I should probably re-cap the amp (it has a bit of hum, but not bad at all). Both input jacks are sprung, so I'll likely replace them with new Switchcraft jacks. I've only owned Sunn tube amps, but this solid state amp sounds quite good.

I found the files in this thread: http://sunnforum.ampage.org/index.php/topic,6794.msg29078.html#msg29078

The files were corrupt so I replaced them. What a pain.

Loudthud,
Once again, you are a prince! Thank you sir for sending these schematics....very helpful! I saved them all to my schematic stash.
I did replace the input jacks and also the speaker jack on the cabinet today. I played my '62 American Reissue Jazz Bass through this puppy and I have to say......it sounds pretty darned good (and I'm a tube guy!). So now I will probably start hunting for Concert and Coliseum heads ....oh no, please make it stop!!!! Ha!
Thanks again!
