Greg's a real cool dude. Don't know about O'Malley, he seems kinda "self-serious", but I've seen a few interviews with him where he seems like a real laid back nice dude, he is the "artsy" type, so that could get misinterpreted for being snooty... I did hear something a long time ago about O'Malley throwing a house/stage monitor off the stage or something... whatever though.
I spoke briefly with Stephen when he played in Sydney a few years ago, and he was extremely polite, informative and sincere. (I didn't mention the previous occasion I'd seen him play at the WhatisMusic festival with Sunn O))) in 2005, when he was experiencing some 'technical issues' and took out his frustrations out on one of his T's by pushing it off the top of a full stack - not knowing a tech was trying to rectify the problem from behind! Ouch... How much do those things weigh anyhow?!)

This is a man who is doing it for the right reasons, and I am grateful to him for it!

On a side note: whilst the Sunn O))) amplifier worshippers here might be crestfallen about the band's effect on the price of amplifiers, I imagine there are some Travis Bean fans who are feeling the same way as you!

I've watched Sunn last week at Roadburn.
Nice show and a great oportunity for them to play with an AMAZING PA. So you can imagine the result... The below pic speaks for itself!

6x Sunn Model T, one Sunn 1200S, 4x Ampeg svt and LOTS of cabs...

Regardless of the feelings people have towards this band, that picture is just too much goodness for me to handle right now.

I like Sunn and all, but the live album that just came out on Southern Lord's vinyl subscription series is going for over $100 on eBay. I guess I can hold onto that one for a rainy day.

DOMKIRKE is a cool record-you should know you wont hear SUNN amps on this record.
its all HIWATT/Marshall. dont know the story-but obviously they had no luck getting the model ts to the venue.

nice one! I have the regular black 2LP version and I love it.

The recording of this release is amazing you can really ear the church acoustic (listen to it loud)...amazing, too bad it wasn't T's.
