Hello;
The model 8 speakers were one of my favorite cabinets too. They were stuffed with 81-0145 speakers of Sunn manufacture. The had 2" voice coil 54 ounce square magnet and a fz of about 55hz. they would probably benefit from a lower fz around 40 to 45hz but don't go too low cuz the vc may hit the back plate from improper acoustic loading. They were what we called "tight" in the low end and were mainly used for superb vocal support or side fills. The horn was an RCF (italian made) with an RCF driver of which I have 2 (NOS). They came equipped with those early piezo tweeters which lisped badly at 4k and would benefit from a later, smoother replacement. As for the x-over the peizos had a 50 ohm resistor and I would have to find some documents (which I should posses) cuz the values escape me at the moment but I think it was a 12 db/oct design. I will have to look around and e-mail you later Don T.
