Sunn Concert Lead and Slave amps
« on: October 17, 2007, 08:48:08 am »
Vintage ('70's era) Sunn Concert Lead and Slave amps. Sunn listed these at 200 watts into 2 ohms; 150 into 4 ohms, and Sunn had a reputation for conservatively under-rating their equipment back in the day. Solid State. Loud and powerful guitar amp, I have also used these very effectively as a bass amp (the Concert Bass amp had essentially the same preamp but without the distortion, power boost and reverb). Concert lead amp has preamp out, power amp in jacks, bass/mid/treble controls, normal and brite inputs; brite switch, power boost switch; distort switch; reverb level and tone; footswitch included which controls reverb, power boost and distortion. Concert Slave has power amp input. Recently serviced by well known local technician - these are ready to play right away.

Concert Lead $300

Concert Slave $200
Thanks,

Wow... you should put this up on eBay.

The late 70s concerts, the ones rated at 200 watts into 2 ohms would never produce 150 watts into 4 ohms. 100 watts max into 4 ohms is more appropriate.

Perhaps you are confusing this with the earlier amps that would produce 150 watts into 4 ohms - those not recommended for 2 ohm operation, but would produce roughly 95 watts into 8 ohms. The later version would only produce 50-60 watts into 8 ohms.

Concert Lead sold, will sell Slave amp for $150.

To quote the new owner: "Shortly after i picked it up, I took it down to our practice space to do some recordings... After figuring out the mechanics of the busted switch, I went to work and came out with a mammoth tone. I only had to adjust the mid and treble a little bit and i had my dream tone! I played it out of someone's marshall cab and the volume, even at 3, was more than enough to carry over the drums and bass. the brite sounds fantastic. Just thought I'd let you know, keep me posted on what you decide regarding all of those cabinets."

P.S. I have a pair of Beta 2-12 cabs and a pair of the Beta amp 2-12 combo cabs with the angled speaker baffles (with no amp chassis) that I am considering selling or trading
