I'm an unrepentant capitalist, and I've always appreciated Ed speaking up for the free market. In Mike's defense though, many of us can understand the frustration associated with the skyrocketing prices of Sunn gear, and Mike's persistence paid off in the form of an essentially NOS 1st Gen Model T for under $2000.
Now that I'm in the position of selling gear, I'm thankful for the high prices, but, I have to admit, I've definitely encountered resistance from some forum members when I've asked for prices comparable to current Ebay prices. Again, I understand the frustration, but Sunn amps are like any other product: supply is relatively low, demand is growing, and the market adjusts accordingly.
Good deals are still out there, and I'd just encourage forum members to help each other find gear. Most of us watch Craigslist and Ebay religiously. If you know a forum member is looking for something, and you see that piece of gear somewhere, do what you can to help out. We'll all benefit.
